For people who get bills, or non-exciting stuff in the mail every single day, and have nothing to look forward to when they get home, how about writing to sports players, actors, etc. in hopes of getting a response back through the mail. At first I wasn't to thrilled about that, but then I thought, well...it is a free autograph, and you won't lose anything if they don't respond, unless you send pucks or jerseys then of course you are taking a big risk. I like sending the 3 x 5 index cards. Just the plain, lined ones. I know not a lot of people like the lined one but I couldn't find any plain ones with no lines. But the lined ones work fine with me. You could also send cheap cards, such as base cards. I guess any cheap card would be okay. If you really want a response, send a SASE (self, addressed, stamped, envelope), that way the player or whoever you are sending the autograph request to doesn't need to look for envelopes and stamps, etc. and doesn't need to pay for postage. Your chances are higher in getting something back. If you really want to do this, you should do some research first, like finding out who signs through the mail, finding out addresses, who uses autopen to forge their autograph for them, and pieces of information like that. Really, only the big stars such as Wayne Gretzky uses an autopen. Also, sending through the players/stars home address will probably be faster than sending it through their team.
Hope this helps!
